Postgame Quotes
Stephen F. Austin Head Coach Danny Kaspar
Opening Statement - "I'm very proud of this team and their effort today. Having to play without Eric Bell and we just lost our back up center to injury Monday night, adjustments had to be made and our guys really pulled together. Orren Tims missed practice due to bronchitis so you can imagine the mindset coming into today's game. But that aside, we played a great game. Rebound wise we dominated the boards which played a huge role in our win today and Orren Tims presented a lot of match up problems for UTA and just his overall performance was great for us."
On Eddie Williams performance - "Eddie is our captain and the best defensive player in the league. He did a great job on Marquez Haynes in Nacogdoches and today. Eddie has been a difference maker for us defensively and offensively today he led the game with 22 points."
Stephen F. Austin junior guard Eddie Williams
On performance today - "It's been a while since I've had a game shooting like today. The last time I remember a game like this was in high school. I just focused on what coach said, three games in four days, no time to be tired."
UT Arlington Head Coach Scott Cross
Opening Statement - "We ran into a buzz saw tonight. SFA is a solid team all the way around. You have to give them credit. They were tougher than us today and just beat us in every aspect of the game, coaching included. Coach Kaspar had his guys ready to go and they executed on every level. A lot of their guys stepped up and hit shots when they needed it and they controlled the boards all game. We are a defensive team and when couldn't slow SFA down today."
UT Arlington senior guard Marquez Haynes
On final game with UTA - "It's hard. I never saw my last game with UTA or Coach Cross ending like this. But offensively we just couldn't get anything going. We gave up a lot of lose balls and rebounds."
