Postgame Quotes

Southeastern Louisiana Jim Yarbrough
Opening Statement
- "I'd like to thank our conditioning coach Brad Quick for all the hard work he put our guys through. Because they needed it tonight that's for sure. It was a tremendous four-five match up. We knew coming into it Texas State was going to be a tough game. I just didn't expect to do it from such a deep hole. We've been climbing and overcoming adversity all year and one way or another we've always found a way to do it and we did it again tonight. Ironically, just about two or three weeks ago at Texas A&M-Corpus Christi we were down 22 points at the half and had a game where shots were pretty good, but wouldn't fall. Then went on a 27-6 run early in the second half to make it a four-point game. That is just one example of the competitive nature each one of our guys has and it showed up here tonight."

Southeastern Louisiana senior center Patrick Sullivan
On the last two free throws in overtime
- "I knew what was at stake. Make it or go home. I knew there was no tomorrow and I had to do this. Being a senior I had to have that poise and focus when I stepped to the line. After missing the first one it was do or die and the second one had to go."

Texas State Head Coach Doug Davalos
Opening Statement
- "It's fitting that I'm sitting here with these two guys (Cameron Johnson and Ryan White) because first of all it's ridiculous these guys weren't selected to the all-conference teams or at a minimum honorable mention. We would not have been here without them. It's fitting that they're here. They have carried us on their back for most of the game and I appreciate what they've done and I look forward to coaching them another year."

"We played a really good first half. Defensively we were locked in. We did a really good job shutting down both their post game and put pressure on the perimeter. We got a 17 point lead and it was really disappointing how we approached the second half. We started giving up threes and that led to the post game. One thing led to another and we just weren't as good defensively as we were in the first half and it cost us. Our inability to handle the ball cost us too, 21 turnovers really hurt us. I'm disappointed that this team doesn't get to play another round and I'm really disappointed at how the game ended."

Texas State junior forward Cameron Johnson
On taking the final shot in overtime
- "Coach drew up a play right before the last free throw and basically it was just for me to get back and take a long pass. I got a good look and it was a shot I had taken hundreds of times before but it just didn't fall this time."
