Postgame Quotes

Texas A&M-Corpus Christi Head Coach Robert Robinson
Opening Statement
- "First off I want to say this was a hard fought ball game between both teams. I thought Northwestern State played very well especially in the first half. It seemed like we were in kind of the same situation like we were with Sam Houston State recently when they shot 60 percent in the first half. We didn't know what was going to hit us there for a while, but luckily we were able to tie the game by halftime. In the second half our girls really stepped up. It just seemed like for a while we couldn't get into a rhythm offensively because we had so many fouls called which hurt both teams today."

On A&M-Corpus Christi defense - "We had hands in the face today. We did a good job taking away the three-point shot. They were only 4-of-14 today which was really big for us. They have been a good shooting team all season."

Texas A&M-Corpus Christi junior forward Anitra Jeffrey
On role in the tournament
- "It's basically the same. I'm always trying to pick them up. When someone comes out of the game I'm ready to go in and play. Try to make as few a mistakes as possible."

Northwestern State Head Coach Jennifer Graf
Opening Statement
- "I couldn't have asked for more of an effort from them. I feel like we laid it all out there on the line and for the season we've had it's been a lot of highs and lows. We really bought into the idea of the conference tournament that everyone coming in is 0-0 and it kind of gave us a new light and I could see that in the way the girls performed on Tuesday. They laid it all out there for 40 minutes then and I believe they did it again today. In the second half we couldn't buy a basket which really hurt us. But A&M-Corpus Chirsti was able to hit the boards really hard and got a lot of offensive rebounds. They forced us to switch things up a lot and their post play caused problems for us. But I couldn't have asked for more from my girls, especially my seniors. The heart and effort they've shown all year showed up here today as well."

Northwestern State senior forward Sherrion Thomas
On time with Northwestern State
- "Coming in as a transfer I enjoyed my years here at Northwestern. I wouldn't trade it for anything. I love my team and my coaches. When you live four hours away you can't go home often and they made it a second home for me."

Northwestern State senior guard Lyndzee Greene
On time with Northwestern State
- "It's been a second home for me. It has been a great four years and I wouldn't give back any minute at Northwestern or with my teammates. It's true what they say, college basketball is the greatest four years of your life. I've had a blast and I love my team."
