Postgame Quotes

Stephen F. Austin Head Coach Danny Kaspar
Opening Statement
- "I don't think winning No. 400 is nearly as significant as our reaching the tournament finals. This is a special win and a special team. Even I had my doubts about being where we are today. At the beginning of the year we started with so many new players but it's really come together for us. But these two guys up here (Walt Harris and Eddie Williams) have both come through all season with some big games and did so again today. Eddie played a big role last night and again tonight and Walt played a much bigger role tonight in terms of offensive output. I'm just so very proud of this team and what they've accomplished with so many new faces."

Stephen F. Austin junior guard Eddie Williams
On playing AMCC senior Kevin Palmer
- "I knew coming into the game that he's a great offensive player and he's going to shoot the ball a lot. His team depends on him to score. So I tried to get a hand in on every jump shot he took, get a hand in his face and make every shot a tough one."

Stephen F. Austin senior guard Walt Harris
On today's performance
- "I knew today I would have to step up to help my team. I fouled out last game and wasn't going to make that mistake again. I'm a captain and today I was going to play like one and help lead the team to a win."

Texas A&M-Corpus Christi Head Coach Perry Clark
Opening Statement
- "Looking at the stat sheet. I thought we did a lot of things well. They did a good job on Kevin. He was 1-of-11 in the first half and 6-of-22 for the game and didn't have a three-point field goal. We count on him to do so much and he's carried us so far. In a game like this obviously when you're able to take him away, it affects us. I thought the other kids stepped up. I thought Justin and Demond both stepped up for us today. We knew we were going to need some perimeter shooting and being 3-of-12 from three-point distance hurt us. Which made it really hard for us. I thought we did a good job with our turnovers but you can't shoot the way we did and expect to be successful."

Texas A&M-Corpus Christi senior guard Kevin Palmer
On today's semifinals loss
- "We had a lot of mishaps on defense. They got a lot of second chance points from offensive rebounds and we can't give that up to a team like SFA."

Texas A&M-Corpus Christi junior forward Justin Reynolds
On today's semifinals loss
- " We just didn't do enough from the free throw line. We gave away too many second chance points and didn't take advantage of our own opportunities. In tournament play you can't give teams a second chance to score and you have to capitalize on every opportunity you're given and we didn't do that."
