Bruce Ludlow is in his 27th year with the Southland Conference. He was hired in January of 1998 as director of media relations, elevated to assistant commissioner in 2000 and then promoted to associate commissioner in July 2005.
 
A native of Tipton, Indiana, Ludlow began his current assignment after spending over four years as the assistant sports information director at the University of Louisiana-Monroe. Ludlow also worked as the assistant sports information director at Southland Conference member Northwestern State University for one year prior to being hired at ULM.
 
After earning his master’s degree and serving as a graduate assistant in the SID office at Louisiana-Monroe, Ludlow served as an intern and interim director in the media relations office of the Southland Conference before going to Northwestern State.
 
As associate commissioner, Ludlow transitioned from media services into a sports-operation role for the conference.
 
Ludlow serves as the director of the Southland Conference cross country and track and field championships, the soccer and tennis tournaments while assisting with various other events. He is the conference liaison to the head track and field, tennis and soccer coaches.
 
In his role, Ludlow was very instrumental in the implementation of instant replay for Southland Conference football and men’s and women’s basketball. He currently serves as the membership liaison for replay and oversees league video exchange for all sports.
 
In 2010, the NCAA Division I Football Championship Game was awarded to Frisco, Texas, and the Southland serves as host for the national title contest at FC Dallas Stadium where Ludlow serves as the championship game administrator.
 
Ludlow was also involved in the launching of the Southland Conference’s television network, assisting the commissioner in laying the groundwork for its fall 2008 startup. Previously, Ludlow served as Conference liaison for televised contests on the ESPN family of networks, Fox Sports Net, Cox Sports Television, The America Channel and College Sports Television.
 
Ludlow has a wealth of experience in directing numerous Southland championships during his tenure in the league, including men’s and women’s basketball, men’s and women’s tennis, soccer, softball, men’s and women’s golf, men’s and women’s indoor and outdoor track and field, cross country and women’s volleyball. In addition, he has worked several NCAA national championship events, including seven (1993, 1998, 2003-06, 2008) NCAA Men’s Basketball Final Fours and one (2002) Women’s Final Four. He has also been involved with seven men’s first and second-round or regional basketball events as a media relations assistant.
 
A 1989 graduate of Southern Arkansas University, Ludlow has two children, Tyler and Callie. He and his wife, Ann, married on Nov. 12, 2016.
