Jenny McGhee joined the Southland Conference in January 2008, as the Associate Commissioner of External Operations. In 2017, she was promoted to Senior Associate Commissioner and currently oversees various external departments within the Southland Conference. McGhee’s oversight includes marketing,branding, promotions and licensing. She serves as the conference liaison for Southland Corporate Sponsorships, the Senior Woman Administrators, the SAAC Advisors and is the primary sport administrator for volleyball, beach volleyball, men’s golf and women’s golf. In 2015, McGhee was appointed to the NCAA Division I Women’s Volleyball Committee. She is also a current member of the local organizing committee for the NCAA Division I Football Championship Game, overseeing local marketing and promotional efforts and in-venue game presentation.
Prior to joining the Southland Conference, McGhee worked for the Texas Tornado, a former North American Hockey League franchise. She served as the Director of Community Relations for three years and was promoted to Vice President of Corporate Sponsorship in 2005. She oversaw sponsorship sales and service for the organization for two and a half years before she transitioned to the Southland Conference.
A native of Arlington, Texas, McGhee graduated from Stephen F. Austin in 2001 and was a four-year letter winner for the SFA Ladyjack volleyball team. She served as an assistant coach and strength and conditioning trainer for the North Dallas Junior Volleyball Association, while working for the Texas Tornado.
McGhee is actively engaged in numerous community efforts and previously served as a board member of the Frisco Chamber of Commerce and Frisco Family Services Center.
She and her husband Brian live in Plano, Texas, and have three sons, Mason (8), Preston (4) and Owen (1).
