Another Set of Repeats Fill the SLC Volleyball Weekly Awards

FRISCO, Texas – Texas A&M-Corpus Christi’s Kyndal Payne, Belle Morgan and McNeese’s Bailey Tillman earn SLC Volleyball Weekly Awards as announced by the conference office on Monday. 

Offensive Player of the Week: Kyndal Payne, Texas A&M-Corpus Christi – Jr. – OH – Haslet, Texas (V.R. Eaton HS)
For the second time this season, Kyndal Payne is named the SLC Offensive Player of the Week. Payne averaged 4.50 kills per set through three sweeps for the Islanders. She turned in a .417 hitting percentage on the week and contributed 40.5 points for a 5.06 points per set average. She posted a 19-kill, 12-dig double-double in the win over HCU and recorded at least eight kills and five digs in all three matches. Payne totaled seven blocks, including three against both UIW and Nicholls. Kyndal leads the league in kills, kills per set, points, and points per set.

Defensive Player of the Week: Bailey Tillman, McNeese – Jr. – L – Sugar Land, Texas (Fort Bend Austin)
Bailey Tillman earned herself the title of SLC Defensive Player of the week for the third week in the row and for the fourth time this season. She continued her stellar back row play leading the Cowgirls in assists in all three matches last week. Tillman collected 55 digs for an average of 5.50 per set. She moved into ninth place in McNeese career digs with 18 against Texas A&M-Commerce to push her career total to 1,242.

Setter of the Week: Belle Morgan, Texas A&M-Corpus Christi – Gr. – S – Fort Mitchell. Ky. 
This is the fifth time this season that graduate transfer, Belle Morgan has earned herself the title of SLC Setter of the Week. Belle ran the offense to a perfect week of three sweeps for a .381 team hitting percentage. She recorded 121 assists for a 13.44 assists per set mark while adding nine kills herself for an individual .438 hitting clip on the week. She picked up seven digs against both UIW and HCU and had six service aces through the three matches, including four against Nicholls. Morgan leads the SLC in assists, recording at least 80 more than the rest of the league for a conference-best 12.47 assists per set average.
