FRISCO, Texas — Southland Conference Tournament Champion SFA Ladyjacks will play No. 6 TCU in the first round of the 2025 NCAA Division I Women’s Volleyball Championship on Friday, December 5, hosted by Texas A&M in College Station, Texas, announced on the NCAA Selection Show Sunday evening.
SFA secures their seventh Southland Conference Tournament Championship to go to their fifth NCAA Tournament in the past eight years, marking their 20th overall SLC Title. Head Coach Debbie Humphreys is in her 38th season leading the Ladyjacks, who finished the regular season 20-7. They clinched the automatic bid last weekend, defeating No. 2 seed UTRGV in straight sets to claim the title. Both SFA and UTRGV we named regular-season co-champions.
This will be just the third time the Ladyjacks have played the Horned Frogs, with the series currently tied with one win each. The last matchup was in 2013, where TCU won 3-1. The last time the Ladyjacks defeated TCU was a 3-1 win in 2002.
The 2025 NCAA Tournament marks the ninth NCAA appearance for the Ladyjacks and their fifth in the past eight seasons all under Head Coach Humphreys. The 'Jacks are looking to advance to the second round for the first time since 2006.
The first-round matchip game will be featured on ESPN+.
The 2025 NCAA Division I Women’s Volleyball Championship matches will be on December 18 and 21 in Kansas City, Missouri.
