Led by two-time reigning Southland Coach of the Year Nathan Kogut, Lamar (15-2-3) earned both the regular season title after posting a 9-0-1 record in conference play and followed that with a tournament title in Corpus Christi last weekend, defeating rival McNeese, 3-1.

This season's Cardinals' team is in the midst of a 16-match undefeated streak, which has elevated their overall record to 15-2-3, including a 1-0 upset win over No. 17 Xavier at the LU Soccer Complex. Lamar made history by becoming the first team in the SLC to repeat as conference tournament champions, winning their fourth tournament title overall.

Lamar recorded a school record 10 all-conference selections including seven first teamers led by player of the year Hollie Massey, goalkeeper of the year Nicole Panis, defender of the year Arely Alaniz, and midfielder of the year Alana Clark as well as three second teamers.

This will mark the fourth appearance for LU in the NCAA tournament as they seek their first postseason win in program history. They previously went in 2017 (Texas A&M), 2019 (UCLA), and 2022 (LSU).
