FRISCO, Texas — UTRGV's Hasan Abdul Hakim has earned this week's Jersey Mike's Southland Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Week award, the conference office announced Monday.
Men's Basketball Player of the Week: Hasan Abdul Hakim – Sr. – G – Toronto, Ontario, Canada (Gunn Academy)
Abdul Hakim helped lead UTRGV to a Greenbrier Tip-Off River Division Championship, recording back-to-back games in double-figures. He was named to the Greenbrier Tip-Off All-Tournament Team and was named the Tournament MVP after averaging 19.5 points and 2.5 rebounds in those two games. He dropped 24 points in the win over Charleston Southern and then scored 15 with five rebounds and two assists in the win over Tennessee Tech.
