FRISCO, Texas — Lamar's Alexis Marmolejos has earned this week's Jersey Mike's Southland Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Week award, the conference office announced Monday.

Marmolejos led the Cardinals to a 2-0 start in conference play with two outstanding road wins over Texas A&M-Corpus Christi and UTRGV. He Averaged 17.5 points, 2.5 rebounds, 1.5 assists and 1.5 steals per game during the two-game stretch, adding a 6-of-10 clip from three-point range. Marmolejos is currently third in the conference at scoring with 16.4 points per game.
