FRISCO, Texas — UIW's Jorja Elliott has earned Jersey Mike's Southland Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week award, the conference office announced Monday.
Women's Basketball Player of the Week: Jorja Elliott, UIW – Jr. – G – Hickory Creek, Texas (Lake Dallas HS)
Elliott scored a season-high 22 points to lead the Cardinals to a 1-0 Southland Conference start with the 48-46 victory over Northwestern State. She finished the game shooting 7-for-11 from the field, knocking down three 3-pointers and going perfect from the FT line (5-5). In a close game with seven lead changes, Jorja was key in warding off the Demons.
