FRISCO, Texas – Southeasetern forward Nick Caldwell has been named the Southland Conference Men’s Basketball Player of the Week as announced Monday by the conference office. The Lions have earned back-to-back player of the week selections after Roscoe Eastmond earned the honors a week ago.
Men's Player of the Week: Nick Caldwell, Southeastern – F – Sr. – Prairieville, La. (Dutchtown)
Caldwell led the Lions in a 2-0 week as neither UIW nor Northwestern State could contain the senior from Prairieville as he hit 70% of his shots, including 60% from three, in the two games, averaging 16.5 points per game and 6.5 boards. The two wins moved SLU’s win streak to four games, tying the longest win streak of the season for the Lions as SLU is on the move upward in the Southland after a 1-4 start in conference play, having won five of the last six contests to get back above .500 in SLC play.
