FRISCO, Texas – Southeasetern forward Nick Caldwell has been named the Southland Conference Men’s Basketball Player of the Week as announced Monday by the conference office. It is the second straight week Caldwell has taken home weekly conference honors as well as the third consecutive week a Lions has earned player of the week after Roscoe Eastmond was named three weeks ago.

Caldwell averaged a double-double with 23 points and 10 rebounds in a pair of wins which extended Southeastern's best win streak of the season out to six games. Caldwell hit a pair of free throws with 8.1 seconds left in regulation of Monday's game vs. Texas A&M-Commerce to force overtime, where SLU ultimately triumphed, on his way to his first double-double of the season with 22 points and 10 rebounds. He also tied his career high with five blocks against A&M-Commerce. Caldwell followed that up with his second-straight double-double on Saturday against HCU with 23 points and 10 rebounds. He hit the game-winner over the Huskies, hitting a three-pointer with 3.9 seconds left for the 81-78 win. Caldwell was 70% from the field Saturday against HCU, made both of his three-point attempts and all eight of his free throws against the Huskies.
