FRISCO, Texas — Southeastern's Bailey Krolczyk and Texas A&M-Corpus Christi's Primrose Aholelei have been named this week's Jersey Mike's Southland Conference Players of the Week, the conference announced Monday. This is Krolczyk's second time winning the award this season while Aholelei is a first-time winner.
Hitter of the Week: Bailey Krolczyk, Southeastern - Sr. - OF - Corpus Christi, Texas (Veterans Memorial)
Krolczyk extended her hitting streak to 12 games during a 4-0 trip to California for Southeastern. She hit .538 through those four games, helping the Lions to a three-game series sweep of Pacific and a 10-2 win at Santa Clara. She hit five doubles and a home run, driving in eight runs and posting a 1.154 slugging percentage. Krolczyk leads SLU with a .439 batting average, 43 hits, 14 doubles, four triples and 32 RBI through 35 games.
Pitcher of the Week: Primrose Aholelei, Texas A&M-Corpus Christi - Sr. - RHP - Honolulu, Hawaii (Henry J. Kaiser )
Aholelei threw two complete games in the series win at Houston Christian, earning both of A&M-Corpus Christi's victories. That campaign included a two-hit shutout in game one, her fifth of the year, where she fanned nine batters. In game three, she made the start again and gave up just two runs through seven innings while adding seven strikeouts. She has now thrown 13 complete games this season.
