FRISCO, Texas — Infielder Maddie Watson and RHP Ronni Grofman of Houston Christian were named the Jersey Mike's SLC Softball Players of the Week for Week 11 of the softball season, the conference office announced Monday. 

Watson claims the Hitter of the Week award for the second time this season (Mar. 4), giving the Lions their sixth weekly hitting accolade of the 2024 campaign. Grofman is a first-time winner this season and the second Husky to earn the Pitcher of the Week honor in that span. 

Hitter of the Week: Maddie Watson, Southeastern - Jr. - 2B - Baton Rouge, La. (Parkview Baptist HS)
Watson led Southeastern with a .727 batting average in a 5-0 week for the Lions that included four run-rule victories, including three in a SLC series sweep of Lamar. The junior also had two doubles and four RBI on the week while tallying eight hits on the week.

Pitcher of the Week: Ronni Grofman, HCU - Sr. - RHP - Kingwood, Texas (Kingwood Park HS)
Grofman saved a gem for her final home appearance for the Huskies, pitching her first-career no-hitter in a 2-0 victory over Northwestern State. She totaled two strikeouts and made quick work of the Demons, needing just 81 pitches in the 81-minute contest.
