FRISCO, Texas — Southeastern's Audrey Greely and UIW's Larissa Jacquez have been named this week's Jersey Mike's Southland Conference Players of the Week, the conference announced Monday.

This is Greely's first time winning the award this season and she becomes the third Southeastern hitter to claim the award in that span. Jacquez is a first-time winner this season and the first UIW player to earn the award on the 2024 campaign. 

Hitter of the Week: Audrey Greely, Southeastern - Sr. - OF - Geismar, La. (Parkview Baptist HS)
Greely led the Lions with a .571 batting average in a 5-0 week that helped the Lady Lions extend their win streak to 10 games. She tallied a 3-for-3 showing in a 4-2 win over Jackson State and a 2-for-3 performance with two RBI in a 5-0 win over Texas A&M-Corpus Christi that helped Southeastern complete a SLC series sweep.

Pitcher of the Week: Larissa Jacquez, UIW - Fr. - RHP - Eagle Pass, Texas (Eagle Pass HS)
Jacquez had an impressive weekend for the Cardinals, pitching eight total innings. She fanned 11 batters in a 9-1 victory over Houston Christian on Friday and contributed two innings of work with three strikeouts in a 4-1 win against the same opponent on Saturday. Her efforts resulted in a 1.89 era, 14 total strikeouts, and four hits through the weekend.
