UIW 24, #14/14 Lamar 17
The University of the Incarnate Word football team earned a 24-17 home win on Saturday, Nov. 1, against No. 14 Lamar University. The Cardinals started the new month by knocking off the nation’s 14th-ranked FCS team, improving to 3-6 on the season. The loss marked Lamar’s first defeat since Week 1 at North Texas. UIW’s defense dominated the night, limiting Lamar to just nine first downs while posting four sacks, six tackles for loss, and four quarterback hurries. Freshman quarterback
EJ Colson ignited the offense early, throwing three first-half touchdown passes.
Josh Lorick led all receivers with 90 yards and a touchdown. Lamar managed 266 total yards—195 of which came after halftime. Senior
Robert Coleman started at quarterback and completed 18-of-25 passes for 182 yards and a touchdown, a fourth-quarter strike to
Jaydn Girard that pulled Big Red within one score. Despite the setback, Lamar (7-2, 4-1 SLC) remains in control of its postseason destiny.
Nicholls 31, HCU 7
Another all-around performance lifted Nicholls State University to its second straight 31-7 home win, as the Colonels cruised past HCU on homecoming afternoon at Manning Field at John L. Guidry Stadium. Nicholls (3-6, 3-2 SLC) climbed above .500 in league play with its 10th victory in the last 12 meetings against HCU (2-7, 1-4 SLC). #16/21 Southeastern 59, East Texas A&M 14
No. 16/21 Southeastern Louisiana jumped out to a 35-0 halftime lead and never looked back in a 59-14 win over East Texas A&M on Saturday evening at Strawberry Stadium. Southeastern (7-2, 5-0 SLC) extended its winning streak to five and notched its first 5-0 start to league play since 2021. The Lions are now 7-0 versus FCS opponents, outscoring them 330-86—an average of 47.1 points scored and just 12.3 allowed per game. Quarterbacks

McNeese 50, Northwestern State 3
McNeese rolled up a season-high 313 rushing yards and six touchdowns in a 50-3 rout of Northwestern State, giving head coach
Matt Viator his 100th career victory. The 47-point margin was the largest in the 75-year history of the series. The Cowboys (3-6, 2-3 SLC) finished with 461 total yards—their highest output since Week 3 vs. Weber State. Quarterback

Stephen F. Austin, decked out in all black, stormed out to a 27-0 halftime lead and never looked back in a 41-17 win over RV/RV UTRGV on Saturday night at Homer Bryce Stadium. The victory marked the ‘Jacks’ seventh straight, their longest streak since the start of the 1995 season, and improved them to 5-0 in conference play. Wideouts
