FRISCO, Texas  —  East Texas A&M's Ariana Brown and Jade Washington along with Nicholls' Isabella Padilla have earned this week's Southland Volleyball Player of the Week awards, the conference office announced Monday. Brown, Washington and Padilla are the season's first honorees.  

Offensive Player of the Week: Ariana Brown, East Texas A&M – Sr. – OH – Houston, Texas (Conroe High School)
Brown led the Lions to a 2-1 start at the Lion Invitational and was named to the all-tournament team. She accumulated 44 kills, 3 total blocks, 47 points, and 2 service aces over three matches on her home court. Brown recorded 14 kills and contributed 14.5 points in a 3-0 win against Texas Southern. She then achieved 15 kills and two service aces, totaling 17.0 points in a loss to Southern Illinois. Brown finished strong, delivering 15 kills and two blocks, earning 16.0 points in a 3-2 victory over ULM.
Honorable mention: Armie Hall, LSU New Orleans

Defensive Player of the Week: Jade Washington, East Texas A&M – So. – L – Waco, Texas (Midway High School)
Washington totaled 58 digs and three service aces over the course of three matches through the weekend. She recorded 14 digs against Texas Southern and contributed 17 digs and one service ace in a loss to Southern Illinois. Washington capped the tournament with a remarkable 27 digs and two service aces against ULM. 

Setter of the Week: Isabella Padilla, Nicholls – Sr. – S – Medellin, Colombia (Salazar y Herrera) 
Padilla recorded 97 assists across three matches. She began the season by dishing out 33 assists in the Colonels' season-opening win over Stonehill and carried on with 30 assists against Oral Roberts. She finished the weekend with 34 assists in a victory over Alcorn.
