FRISCO, Texas — Northwestern State's Mya Blake has earned Jersey Mike's Southland Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week award, the conference office announced Monday. This is her second time earning the honor this season.

Mya led the way in the Demons' two road wins, including a massive victory at Nicholls to earn a sweep over the Colonels team. She averaged 21 points per game and shot 45 percent from the field on the week, including scoring 32 in the victory at Nicholls. Mya led the team in scoring with 10 at McNeese, recording eight assists in leading the Demons to a 80-56 win in Lake Charles. Mya leads the league in both SLC and overall scoring and is third in the conference in assists in league games.
