FRISCO, Texas — McNeese's Joe Charles has been named this week's Jersey Mike's SLC Men's Basketball Player of the Week, the conference office announced Monday. Charles is the third McNeese player to win the award this season.

Charles averaged 16.5 points last week, leading McNeese to a 2-0 record for the week and wrapping up a share of the Southland Conference regular season title. He scored a season-high 17 points and grabbed 10 rebounds in an 88-82 win at Southeastern last Monday before adding 16 points in a 73-57 home win over A&M-Corpus Christi. Charles sank 10 of 17 from the field for 59% including 8 for 12 for 67% from three-point range.
