A&M-Corpus Christi's Williams, Nicholls' Sisco Named Jersey Mike's SLC Softball Players of the Week

FRISCO, Texas — Texas A&M-Corpus Christi's Malia Williams and Nicholls' Claire Sisco have been named this week's Jersey Mike's SLC Softball Players of the Week, the conference office announced Monday. Williams is the first Islanders player to earn the honor this season while Sisco claims recognition for the second time.

Softball Hitter of the Week: Claire Sisco, Nicholls – Jr. – UTL – College Station, Texas (A&M-Consolidated)
Claire Sisco racked up nine hits for a .750 batting average in the Colonels' four games this week, hitting safely in all four outings and posted three-hit games at Southern Miss and in the opener at McNeese. She had three doubles, five runs scored, two RBIs and two stolen bases. Sisco extended her hitting streak to 10 games and ranks second in the SLC in batting average at .444.

Softball Pitcher of the Week: Malia Williams, A&M-Corpus Christi – Jr. – RHP – Eugene, Ore. (Marist Catholic High School)
Williams pitched a complete game shutout en route to the Islanders winning 2-1 series win over HCU. She appeared in game three and ended the weekend throwing 8.2 innings, only conceding a single run while striking out five batters.
