FRISCO, Texas — Southeastern's Gracie Brown, UIW's Ashton Rogers and Calissa Allison have been named this week's Southland Volleyball Players of the Week, the conference office announced Monday. Rogers is a second-time winner this season while Brown and Allison get the nod for the first time.
Offensive Player of the Week: Gracie Brown, Southeastern – So. – MB – Bryant, Ark. (Bryant High School)
Brown put together two of the top performances of her career in Southeastern's back-to-back wins last week. The sophomore totaled 22 kills, 38 points, eight aces, and 13 blocks, earning a .542 hitting percentage. She posted career highs of 13 kills and 19.5 points in the win over McNeese with six digs included. In the three-set win against Nicholls, Brown notched match bests of nine kills, six aces, six blocks, and no errors. With 18 aces this season, Brown is tied for the fifth-most service aces in the SLC.

Defensive Player of the Week: Ashton, Rogers, UIW – Jr. – LB – Bakersfield, Calif. (Liberty High School)
Rogers recorded 39 digs and 14 assists in two matches, averaging 4.88 digs per set as the Cardinals went undefeated last week. Rogers continues to anchor the UIW defense, ranking second in the Southland Conference and 19th nationally with 4.66 digs per set this season. She leads the Cardinals with 270 digs, helping UIW rank 14th nationally.
Setter of the Week: Calissa Allison, UIW – Jr. – S – Plugerville, Texas (Concordia High School)
Allison recorded 23 kills, 45 assists and 26 digs across UIW's undefeated week, hitting .220 while averaging 2.88 kills and 3.25 digs per set. In UIW’s reverse-sweep victory over SFA, Allison posted 14 kills, 31 assists and 16 digs for her 14th career triple-double, moving her into a tie for 11th all-time in career triple-doubles. She followed with nine kills, 14 assists and 10 digs against Lamar, recording her 10th double-double of the season in the three-set match.
