FRISCO, Texas — The Southland announced its 2027 Conference softball schedule Thursday, comprised of a 27-game round-roubin format. The 10 teams will play nine series each consisting of three games.
Conference play will start on Friday, March 12, when all teams take to the field for their first series on the schedule, incuding last years' historic regular season champion Southeastern and Southland Tournament winners McNeese opening their campaigns on the road at Northwestern State and UIW respectively. That sparks the start of competition that will consistently play out on Fridays and Saturdays through the end of April. The schedule includes one midweek series for each team set to occur on April 6 and 7. The regular season will come to an end on Saturday, May 1, 2026.
The 2027 Southland Softball Championship will begin bracket play on the sites of the first- and second-place finishers in the conference standings on May 6 through May 8. That pair of double-elimination tournaments will produce the two combatants for the Southland Championship series set for May 13-15.
