FRISCO, Texas – The Southland Conference has released the bracket and schedule for the 2023 Southland Conference Softball Championship, which will be held at McNeese State’s Joe Miller Field at Cowgirl Diamond on Tuesday-Friday, May 9-12.
TOURNAMENT CENTRAL --- BRACKET
McNeese earned the top seed in the seven-team, double elimination tournament with a 21-3 conference record. The Cowgirls won their eighth regular season title overall and second consecutive, and will be looking for their ninth tournament title.
Southeastern had a 19-5 conference record to earn the tournament’s second seed, and will open their tournament at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday against seventh seed HCU, which had a 9-15 conference mark.
Nicholls earned the third seed with a 13-11 conference mark and plays at 5 p.m. Tuesday in its opening game against sixth seed Northwestern State, who went 10-14 in league play.
Lamar took the fourth seed at 12-12 in conference play and will take on fifth seed A&M-Corpus Christi (11-13 in SLC play) in the opening game of the tournament at noon Tuesday.
All games of the tournament will be broadcast on ESPN+.
