FRISCO, Texas — Texas A&M-Corpus Christi's Paige Allen has earned this week's Jersey Mike's Southland Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week award, the conference office announced Monday.
Women's Basketball Player of the Week: Paige Allen, Texas A&M-Corpus Christi – Gr. – G/F – Kansas City, Missouri
Allen averaged a double-double of 14.5 points/game and 10.5 rebounds/game on the undefeated week for the Islanders who defeated Texas A&M and Texas State on the road. She led the team in scoring in both games, opening the season with a 14-point, 12-rebound double-double against the Aggies before scoring 15 points at Texas State. The Kansas City, Missouri, native shot 56.5 percent from the field between the two games, made her only attempted three-pointer, grabbed four steals on the week and averaged 1.5 assists/game.
