FRISCO, Texas – Kennedy Carroll of Augusta has been named the Southland Conference’s Women’s Golf Student-Athlete of the Year, the conference office announced Friday.

Carroll's outstanding season concluded with several honors, including Southland Conference Player of the Year and First Team All-Conference accolades. She tallied a 72.5 stroke average for the year and earned Southland Conference Women’s Golf Player of the Month in March.

The Augusta senior Carroll carried a wire-to-wire reign atop the leaderboard at the Southland Conference Women's Golf Championship, finishing 6-under par at 216 for the tournament while earning individual medalist honors. She won the tournament by nine strokes and finished with the only score under par among the entire field, helping the Jaguars to the largest margin of victory in the tournament's history (67 strokes).

She is joined on the all-academic first team by first team all-conference selections Ellen Nicholas of UIW, Lucie Charbonnier of Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, Victoria Zheng of Augusta and Benz Far-Arun of Texas A&M-Commerce.

Augusta has three total all-academic selections, with Lamar, A&M-Commerce and A&M-Corpus Christi having two picks each. UIW has one selection.
