FRISCO, Texas – HCU senior catcher Jasie Roberts is the 2024 Southland Conference Softball Student-Athlete of the Year, the conference office announced Monday. The release comes with announcement of the conference's all-academic first and second teams.

A biochemistry and molecular biology major, Roberts tallied a 3.97 undergrad GPA before pursuing her Master's in Management/Entrepreneurship with a 4.00 GPA. The third-year HCU SAAC President is a four-time SLC Commissioner’s Honor Roll recipient who also earned Easton-NFCA All-America Scholar Athlete honors in 2021 and 2023.

Roberts' excellence in the academic and extracurricular realm translated to the diamond where she earned program marks of second in at-bats, sixth in doubles and seventh in RBI while becoming the ninth Husky to eclipse the 100 RBI plateau. In her final campaign, Jasie led HCU in batting average and hits, finishing second in runs, doubles and RBI. Her record proved one of durability, missing only two games through her career and starting all but one.

Southeastern, McNeese, Northwestern Statehad five all-academic selections, followed by Northwestern State with four selections along HCU and UIW with three.
