Lamar Moves Up; Southeastern and SFA Enter Week 7 National Polls

FRISCO – Lamar remains ranked in the FCS Top 25 polls, while Southeastern and Stephen F. Austin joined the Cardinals in the national rankings, as announced Monday by both organizations.

Lamar made another strong climb in both polls, breaking into the Top 20 after securing its fifth straight win. The Cardinals moved up three spots to No. 17 in the Stats Perform poll and six spots to No. 18 in the AFCA Coaches Poll. Lamar rallied for a 33-23 road victory over East Texas A&M and will now turn its attention to hosting UTRGV in Beaumont on Saturday.

Southeastern entered the AFCA Coaches Poll at No. 22 despite being idle last week and is receiving the second-most votes among teams outside the Top 25 in the Stats Perform poll. The Lions return from their open week to host Northwestern State at Strawberry Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

Stephen F. Austin re-entered the Stats Perform Top 25 at No. 25 and is receiving the third-most votes in the AFCA Coaches Poll. The Lumberjacks also come off a bye week and will welcome Nicholls to Homer Bryce Stadium on Saturday.

UTRGV continues to receive votes in the AFCA Coaches Poll as the Vaqueros sit at 5-1 overall. They will travel to Beaumont to take on nationally ranked Lamar.
