Lamar, Southeastern, SFA Continue to Move Up the National Rankings

FRISCO – Lamar, Southeastern, and Stephen F. Austin all moved up in both FCS Top 25 polls, as announced Monday by the AFCA Coaches and Stats Perform rankings.

Lamar climbed one spot to No. 14 in both polls after pulling away from Northwestern State on the road, 41–14. The Cardinals hit the road again this weekend to take on UIW in San Antonio at 2 p.m.

Southeastern Louisiana rose to No. 16 in the coaches poll and finally entered the media poll, checking in at No. 21. The Lions return home on Saturday to welcome a tough East Texas A&M squad to Strawberry Stadium.

Stephen F. Austin also made a move, climbing to No. 23 in the coaches poll and No. 20 in the media poll. The ‘Jacks are back at Homer Bryce Stadium on Saturday as they take on one of the breakout stories of the FCS season — UTRGV.

The Vaqueros are now receiving votes in both major polls, including the most in the AFCA, sitting just on the cusp of the Top 25 after pummeling UIW on Saturday. They’ll look to make that first-ever jump if they can upset the ranked ‘Jacks.
