East Texas A&M's Erll, UTRGV's Rodriguez Named Southland Golfers of the Month

FRISCO – Janis Erll of East Texas A&M and Natalia Rodriguez of UTRGV earned the Southland Conference Golfer of the Month awards for November, as announced by the league office on Monday.
 
Men’s Athlete of the Week: Janis Erll, East Texas A&M – Jr. – Lich, Germany (Odessa College)
Erll had an impressive October, which included helping the Lions win the LaTour Intercollegiate, while also tying for first for the individual medal at the tournament as well, before falling in the playoff. In the second round, he shot a 62, which set a course record, better than Brooks Koepka, as well as the program record for lowest score in a round. Erll also had a top eight finish at the Bubba Barnett Intercollegiate earlier in the month as the Lions finished third as a team.

Women’s Athlete of the Week: Natalia Rodriguez, UTRGV – Jr. – Cantabria, Spain (Instituto las Llamas)
Rodriguez posted a stroke average of 73.2 in the month of October. She finished tied for 31st at the Diamante Intercollegiate and then finished tied for 17th at the Bear Brawl and helped UTRGV to a seventh place finish at the Bear Brawl.
