FRISCO, Texas — Nicholls' Erin Krause and Lamar's Mallory Pitre have been named this week's Jersey Mike's SLC Softball Players of the Week, the conference office announced Monday.
Softball Hitter of the Week: Erin Krause, Nicholls – Jr. – INF – Cypress, Texas (Cypress Woods High School)
Erin Krause hit .714 (10-14) with 8 RBIs as Nicholls went 4-0 for the week, beating Southern Miss before sweeping East Texas A&M. The Colonels' current nine-game winning streak is the longest since 2019. Had multiple hits in each game, including three hits in Games 1 and 2 at East Texas A&M. Also scored and had an RBI in every game, highlighted by a 3-for-3 outing with 3 RBIs and 2 runs scored in Game 2 vs the Lions. Totaled six runs scored, three walks and one stolen base
Softball Pitcher of the Week: Mallory Pitre, Lamar – So. – RHP – Opelousas, La. (Beau Chene High School)
Pitre won both games in a doubleheader sweep against Texas A&M-Corpus Christi. In her 2-0 day, she pitched 10.2 innings (0.84 ERA) allowing one run on five hits and struck out 10 batters. Pitre earned the first win going 3.2 innings in relief and conceded a hit with one strikeout as the Cardinals won game one 7-1. Then, she pitched a complete game 3-1 victory allowing four hits and setting a season-high nine strikeouts. Pitre is currently in the top 10 in ERA and wins.
