FRISCO, Texas — The Southland Conference announced its 2026 softball schedule Wednesday, comprised of a 27-game round robin format.
The 10 teams will play nine series each consisting of three games. Additionally, East Texas A&M is now eligible for NCAA postseason competition after the NCAA Division I Board of Directors approved full Division I membership status for the Lions during its meeting on June 23.
Conference play will start on March 6 when all teams take to the field for their first series on the schedule, incuding the two-time defending champion Southeastern Lions playing host to Texas A&M-Corpus Christi. That smarks the start of competition that will consistently play out on Fridays and Saturdays through the end of April. The schedule includes one midweek series for each team set to occur on April 14 and 15. The regular season will come to an end on Saturday, April 25, 2026.
The 2026 Southland Softball Championship will begin bracket play on the sites of the first- and second-place finishers in the conference standings on April 30 through May 3. That pair of double-elimination tournaments will produce the two combatants for the Southland Championship series set for May 7-9.
