FRISCO, Texas — Northwestern State's Emily Gundin, Kate Bouck and East Texas A&M's Veronica Pacione have won this week's Jersey Mike's Southland Conference weekly soccer awards, the conference office announced Tuesday. Gundin and Bouck mark the third and fourth different Demons to claim a weekly award this season while Pacione earns the first recognition for the Lions.
Offensive Player of the Week: Emily Gundin, Northwestern State – Jr. – F – Valrico, Fla. (Bloomingdale High School)
Gundin had an outstanding showing for the Demons at Mississippi Valley State, scoring two goals and adding an assist in her first career multi-goal game. She recorded career highs in both shots (6) and shots on goal (4) as NSU poured in seven goals in the first half, the most goals in a single half for the Demons since 2005.

Defensive Player of the Week: Kate Bouck, Northwestern State – So. – D – Flagstaff, Ariz. (Flagstaff High School)
Bouck proved instrumental in the Demons shutout victory over Mississippi Valley State, helping the defense posting a second shutout in its last three contests. NSU's defense bottled up its opponent, preventing a shot attempt for the entirety of the match, a first for this group since the 2018 season.

Goalkeeper of the Week: Veronica Pacione, East Texas A&M – So. – GK – North Richland Hills, Texas (Birdville High School)
Pacione appeared in 135 minutes in two wins last week for the Lions. She logged 45 minutes in a 2-1 win over Grambling, recording three saves and then recorded career-best nine saves in a 1-0 shutout win over Abilene Christian, having played all 90 minutes of ETAMU's two matches.
