FRISCO, Texas — McNeese's Rylee Cloud and Nicholls' Molly Yoo have earned this week's Jersey Mike's Southland Softball Player of the Week awards, the conference office announced Monday. Cloud is a first-time recipient of the award while Yoo gets her first nod this season and the second of her career. 

Softball Hitter of the Week: Rylee Cloud, McNeese – Sr. – Inf. – Mittie, La. (Fairview High School)
Cloud hit .500 last week in a six games helping McNeese to a 3-3 overall record including a win over No. 21 Ole Miss. Cloud was 9 for 18 at the plate with four of her nine hits being extra base hits. She hit two homeruns, one triple, and one double and also had eight RBI and scored six runs while striking out only once.  In the field, she recorded a .900 fielding percent playing both shortstop and second base.

Softball Pitcher of the Week: Molly Yoo, Nicholls – Sr. – LHP – Cypress, Texas (Cypress Ranch High School)
Yoo went 3-0 with a 0.82 ERA and had two complete games including one shutout in the Mardi Gras Mambo. She had 13 strikeouts and just one walk, holding batters to .177 batting average in 17.0 innings of work. Yoo pitched all six innings in the run-rule win over EIU and then fanned seven batters in the 1-0 shutout against Georgia State. She notched her third win after tossing 4.0 innings of relief in the extra-inning victory over SIUE.
