OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – Southland Conference coordinators of baseball officials Dave Yeast and Paul Guillie have been honored by the College Baseball Hall of Fame as part of the Hall’s 2025 recognition class, celebrating two distinguished careers dedicated to the game of college baseball.
Yeast, originally inducted as a member of the 2021 class and formally recognized in 2025 following COVID-related delays, and Guillie, a member of the 2025 class, are longtime leaders in collegiate officiating and currently oversee baseball officiating within the Southland Conference.
A two-time NCAA Division I College World Series umpire, Yeast worked 23 Division I conference tournaments, 13 NCAA Division I regionals and one super regional during his career. He also represented the United States internationally at the 1996 Olympic Games, the 1993 and 1999 Intercontinental Cups and the 1990 World Championships, earning International Baseball Federation Umpire of the Year honors in 1999.
The American Baseball Coaches Association presented Yeast with its Meritorious Service Award in 2005, while the NCAA honored him with a Distinguished Service Award during a pregame ceremony prior to the national championship game in 2008. He was inducted into the St. Louis Amateur Baseball Hall of Fame in 2011 and the College Baseball Hall of Fame in 2021.
Beyond baseball, Yeast officiated collegiate football and basketball for more than a decade, including the NCAA Division II Football Championships in 1998 and 1999. He also served as an NFL Instant Replay Communicator from 2008-15 and later joined the Pac-12 Conference, where he currently serves as Supervisor of Football Instant Replay.
A former student-athlete and assistant coach at Southeastern Louisiana, Guillie began his officiating career in 1984 and went on to umpire in the ACC, SEC and Sun Belt conferences. Over his career, he worked 19 NCAA Regionals, 14 Super Regionals and four NCAA Division I College World Series (2001, 2004, 2006, 2010).
Guillie currently serves as coordinator of baseball officials for multiple NCAA Division I conferences, including the Southland, SEC, Southern and Ohio Valley.
The Hall of Fame’s 18th induction class was honored at the Night of Champions ceremony in Overland Park, Kansas, marking the ceremonial start of the 2026 college baseball season.
