NACOGDOCHES, Texas- The Stephen F. Austin women's basketball team anxiously awaited to hear their name called during the NCAA Selection Show Sunday night.

SFA (25-9) will face Missouri State (22-12), the CUSA Champions, in a play-in game on Wednesday, March 18 at 8:00 p.m. central time. The winner of this game will face No. 1 seed Texas Longhorns on Friday, March 20. This is the Ladyjacks' fourth trip to the NCAA Tournament in the past six seasons and their second straight year in the big dance.
 
SFA defeated top-seeded McNeese 71-59 to win the Southland Conference Tournament championship game and earn the conference's automatic bid. 

McNeese, the 2026 Southland Women's Basketball regular-season champions, earned an automatic bid to the Women's Basketball Invitational Tournament (WBIT). The Cowgirls are set to play No. 1 Texas A&M on Thursday, March 19 in College Station, Texas.
