FRISCO, Texas – SFA's Ksenia Mamontova has been named this week's Southland Women's Tennis Player of the Week, the conference office announced Tuesday afternoon. This is Mamontova's first nod of the season and a second for an SFA player as she joins Sonja Rooth in claiming the award.
Women's Player of the Week: Ksenia Mamontova, SFA – Sr. – Moscow, Russia (International School of Tomorrow)
Mamontova went 4-0 in two matches against Nicholls and New Orleans. Against Nicholls, she won her doubles match at the No. 3 position, 6-1. At the No. 2 singles position, Ksenia won in straight sets, 6-3, 6-4, and clinched the game-winning point for SFA over Nicholls. Against New Orleans, Mamontova won 6-2 at the No. 3 doubles and her second consecutive straight-set victory in singles, 6-2, 6-2 at the No. 3 position.
