FRISCO, Texas – McNeese's Salome Fluri and Texas A&M-Corpus Christi's Nicholas Niox Chateau have won this week's Southland Conference Tennis Players of the Week awards, as announced by the conference office on Tuesday. Niox Chateau is a first-time winner while Fluri gets the nod for the second time this season and the third instance in her career.
Men's Player of the Week: Nicholas Niox Chateau, A&M-Corpus Christi – Jr. — Paris, France
Niox Chateau helped the Islanders to a rivalry match win, defeating UTRGV's Sam Whitehead in a sweep at No. 1 singles 6-2, 6-2. He held a one set lead on his opponent from Oral Roberts at No. 1 singles before play was called in the 10th win of A&M-Corpus Christi's season.

Women's Player of the Week: Salome Fluri, McNeese – So. – Lostorf, Switzerland (Kantonsschule Solothurn)
Fluri went 4-0 on last week with two singles wins (at No. 1) and two doubles wins (one at No. 1 and one at No. 2). Fluri set a new McNeese women’s tennis regular season continuous singles winning streak Sunday with her 6-4, 7-5 win over UT-Tyler’s Yona Bancarel to extend her winning streak to 25 matches dating back to last season. She then extended her winning streak to 26 singles matches with a straight set win over Yona Dina Lipovski of Tyler Junior College later Sunday afternoon. Fluri hasn’t lost a singles match since Feb. 2, 2025 against UCA.
