McNeese's Taylor and Dibbley Named Jersey Mike's Southland Softball Players of the Week

FRISCO, Texas — McNeese's Brookelyn Taylor and Alexis Dibbley have earned this week's Jersey Mike's Southland Softball Player of the Week awards, the conference office announced Monday. Taylor gets her second nod of the season while Dibbley is the third different Cowgirls hitter to earn recognition.  

Softball Hitter of the Week: Alexis Dibbley, McNeese – Jr. – OF – Moss Bluff, La. (Sam Houston High School)
Dibbley helped McNeese to a 4-0 record last week with a road win at Houston and a home Southland Conference opening series sweep over Lamar.  Dibbley hit .750 on the week (6 for 8) with a 2.250 slugging percent and a .750 on base percent.  All of her hits were extra base hits (three homeruns and three doubles).  She recorded 6 RBI, scored seven runs, three walks without striking out.

Softball Pitcher of the Week: Brookelyn Taylor,  McNeese – Fr. – RHP – Liberty, Texas (Liberty High School)
Taylor helped McNeese to a 4-0 record last week with a road win at Houston and a home Southland Conference series sweep over Lamar. She posted a 2-0 record and picked up her first SLC win in the opening game of the Lamar series and closed out the series with the shutout win in Game 3.  She posted a 0.58 ERA with 13 strikeouts in 12.0 innings. Taylor only allowed three runs (only one earned), seven hits and walked six.
