FRISCO – The Southland Conference has announced a new partnership with TrackMan to implement advanced tracking technology for conference baseball games beginning with the 2026 season. The initiative will support enhanced umpire training and evaluation while further modernizing the conference’s baseball operations.
TrackMan uses patented Optically Enhanced Radar Tracking (OERT) to capture and deliver detailed data through tracking systems installed in baseball stadiums. The technology is widely utilized across collegiate and professional baseball to provide precise pitch tracking and performance analytics.
Through this partnership, the Southland Conference will utilize TrackMan data to monitor each pitch of every conference game, providing valuable insights to assist in the evaluation and development of umpires and improve overall consistency across the league.
“We are excited to partner with TrackMan to bring this level of technology to Southland Conference baseball,” said John Williams, Director of Basketball and Baseball Operations. “As one of the premier mid-major conferences in the country, it is important that we continue to invest in resources that support our officials, enhance the student-athlete experience and elevate the overall quality of our game.”
TrackMan technology is used by all 30 Major League Baseball teams, along with numerous collegiate programs and amateur leagues, and is installed in hundreds of stadiums worldwide.
“TrackMan has supported multiple Southland programs over several seasons, contributing to their player development initiatives,” said TrackMan Director James Snikeris. “We’re excited to build on that work by partnering with the Southland to deliver in-game tracking data for coaches. We look forward to elevating the overall experience for both student-athletes and coaches."
The technology will be utilized for all Southland Conference baseball games during the 2026 season.
