FRISCO, Texas – Southeastern's Onyah Favour, Northwestern State's Teodora Samac have earned this week's Women's Outdoor Track & Field Athletes of the Week honor, respectively, as announced by the conference office on Wednesday.
Women’s Track Athlete of the Week: Onyah Favour, Southeastern – Sprints - Jr. – Asaba, Nigeria
At the East Coast Relays, Favour recorded a strong performance in the 400-meter dash. Favour notched the second-best time in the Southland Conference with a 52.01 mark in the event. Favour's 52.01 is 22nd in the NCAA East Region and 38th in the nation. She placed second in the event, finishing ahead of two SEC student-athletes, while only trailing a Tennessee Volunteer.
Women’s Field Athlete of the Week: Teodora Samac, Northwestern State – Throws - So. – Sremska, Serbia
Samac competed in the javelin at the Alumni Muster, tossing a person best mark of 162-0, the best throw in the javelin last weekend and solidified the second-best throw in the Southland this season. She is 11th in the South Central and 72nd nationally.
