Lamar's Ellis, Northwestern State's Hudson win Men's Outdoor Track & Field Weekly Awards

FRISCO, Texas – Lamar's Ethan Ellis and Northwestern State's Tarajh Hudson have earned the Men's Outdoor Track & Field Athletes of the Week awards, respectively, as announced by the conference office on Wednesday. This is Hudson's third-straight honor of the season.

Men’s Track Athlete of the Week: Ethan Ellis, Lamar  – Sprints – Sr. – Missouri City, Texas
Ellis won the men's 400-meter hurdles at the Texas A&M Alumni Muster (50.76), which was a personal best for him. That time is is currently ranked as the fastest in the Southland Conference, sixth in the South Central Region and 42nd in all of the NCAA DI. He later was part of the third place men's 4x400m relay team that clocked in a time of 3:09.72. 

Men’s Field Athlete of the Week: Tarajh Hudson, Northwestern State – Throws - Gr. – Bahamas
Hudson, winning his third consecutive field athlete of the week honor, tossed 182-1 at the Alumni Muster at Texas A&M is a season best and the best mark in the Southland Conference this season. It is also the 13th best in the South Central Region and 30th in the NCAA East, putting himself in prime position for another trip to the NCAA East First Round. He also made the finals in the shot put with a 51-4.5, his best throw in the event since 2024.
