FRISCO, Texas – Lamar's Akasha Davis is the winner of the Southland Conference Women’s Basketball Player of the Week award of the 2022-23 season, as announced Thursday by the conference office.

Player of the Week: Akasha Davis, Lamar - So. - Center - Dallas, Texas (Wylie East HS)
Davis was dominant in the Cardinals' 70-57 victory at Nicholls on the final night of the regular season. She scored 21 points and had 17 rebounds, with six on the offensive end of the floor. She went 6-of-10 from the floor and 9-of-12 at the charity stripe, while also contributing four blocks. This is Davis' third player of the week award this season.
