FRISCO, Texas — New Orleans' Nora Francois has earned Jersey Mike's Southland Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week award, the conference office announced Monday.  

Women's Basketball Player of the Week: Nora Francois, New Orleans – Sr. – C – Minneapolis, Minn.(Minnetonka HS) 

Nora Francois shot 50 percent from the field with nine rebounds and averaged 18 points per game this week in New Orleans games at Louisiana and Baylor. She tallied 10 points and seven rebounds against Louisiana on Tuesday, then poured in 26 points against RV Baylor on Friday. Francois scored the team's first 11 points of the game and piled up 20 in the first half. She shot 50 percent from the field and drained four three-pointers, tying her single-game career high. It was the second-highest point total by a player against Baylor this season (Shay Ciezki, Indiana-34).
