FRISCO, Texas — New Orleans' Nora Francois has earned Jersey Mike's Southland Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week award, the conference office announced Monday. This is her second honor of the season.
Women's Basketball Player of the Week: Nora Francois, New Orleans – Sr. – C – Minneapolis, Minn. (Minnetonka HS?)
Francois recorded the fifth triple-double in program history with 19 points, 19 rebounds and 10 assists, making her the first Privateer since 2003 to achieve a triple-double. That combined with her 5 steals and 3 blocks made Francois the first player this century among Div. I men and women, WNBA and NBA players to have at least 15 points, 15 boards, 10 assists, 5 steals and 3 blocks in a game. She followed that up with a 20-point performance on Saturday against Northwestern State.
