FRISCO, Texas – The Southland Conference announced this year's Men's Tennis All-Conference Teams and Superlative awards ahead of the 2025 Southland Conference Tennis Championships.
UTRGV's Sam Whitehead spirited the Vaqueros showing, claiming the team's first ever Player of the Year award. Whitehead went 4-1 in conference matches, taking three of those wins in straight sets.
Julian Franzmann of New Orleans claimed Freshman of the Year honors after a stellar first season in the SLC. He went 4-1 at No. 3 singles in conference play, collecting wins against some of the top-ranked teams in the conference.
A&M-Corpus Christi's Nathan Favier wins Newcomer of the Year after being a driving force behind the Islanders' Southland Regular Season title. Favier went 4-1 in conference singles matches though he won the singles' crown at the Southland Fall Championships.
Favier's coach, Steve Moore wins Coach of the Year honors after leading A&M-Corpus Christi to a perfect 5-0 conference regular season.
