Augusta's Pinillos, A&M-Corpus Christi's Adams Highlight 2025 Southland All-Conference and Superlatives

FRISCO, Texas – Augusta University’s Zoe Pinillos was named the Southland Conference Women’s Golf Player of the Year, while Texas A&M-Corpus Christi's Chris Adams was named Coach of the Year, headlining the league's all-conference selections announced Thursday.

Pinillos' teammate Marine Legentil was named the conference's Newcomer of the Year, while Natcha Makmanee of HCU was named Freshman of the Year. 

Pinillos won the 2025 Southland Women's Golf Individual Championship and will participate in the NCAA Norman Regional. She was ranked 730th in the nation and had a stroke average of 74.26 on the season. Pinillos had 13 rounds of 75 or better this season and played her most consistent golf at the championships, shooting a 70-72-72 as the only golfer to finish in the red. She also added first team all-conference honors. 

Legentil shot 75 or better in 11 rounds this season and placed 11th at the conference championship. She had a scoring average of 76.41 and was ranked 746th in the country.

Makmanee put together an outstanding rookie season for HCU, including a second-place finish at the Southland Championship. She finished a conference-best 642nd in the nation and had a scoring average of 74.93. Makmanee had two top-five finishes this season, placing fourth at the Nashville Invitational earlier thie year.

Under her first year at the helm, Adams guided the Islanders back to a Southland Conference Championship for the second time ever and first since 2009. It bookends a champion season, which opened this spring winning the Islanders Classic. Adams also coached two all-conference players in Samantha Gibbs and Lucia Ramirez.

Marie Baertz of East Texas A&M and Natalia Rodriguez of UTRGV rounded out first-team all-conference along with Pinillos, Legentil, and Makmanee.
