NEW ORLEANS — Top-seeded Boise State won the 2025 Southland Conference Beach Volleyball Championship with a 3-0 win over No. 2 Texas A&M-Corpus Christi on Friday.

The Broncos have earned an automatic qualification to the 2025 NCAA Beach Volleyball Championships, which will be held at Gulf Shores, Alabama, May 2-4.

Boise State advanced to the championship match with a 3-0 sweep over No. 3 San Jose State earlier in the day. 

The championship match between the Broncos and Islanders began with a point in straight sets from Boise State’s No. 2s of Addison Walden and Ava Anderson (21-16, 21-18). The next dual came down to three sets at the No. 4s between Bryce Ranney and Jade Bennett of Texas A&M-Corpus Christi and Emilia Guerra-Acuuna and Elli Wolthuis of Boise State. Boise State won the dual (21-15, 14-21, 21-19) to make it 2-0.

The match point came from the No. 1 pair of Sharli O’Neil and Allyson Alden in the third set. (21-17, 17-21, 15-10). 

Abbie Wolf and Avery Allen were named the tournament MVP.

The NCAA Division I Women’s Beach Volleyball Championship bracket will be announced on Sunday, April 27 before the first round of competition.
