FRISCO, Texas - Kristin Bobay of Texas A&M-Corpus Christi was named the 2026 Southland Beach Volleyball Student-Athlete of the Year, the conference office announced Monday. All-academic teams announced.
Alden earned a 3.80 GPA in the classroom, majoring in Kinesiology. She was named Pair of the Year and SLC First Team at the No. 1 position with partner Madison Morrow. The pair finished the year with a 22-9 record.
The senior from Fort Wayne, Indiana, is the all-time winningest player in Islanders program history and won set 1 against No. 4 USC in the NCAA tournament.
The all-academic team is selected by a head coach, sports information director and an academic/compliance staff member from each Southland Conference institution. Student-athletes must possess a 3.25 cumulative GPA and completed one full academic year at the nominating institution to qualify for All-Academic selection. Student-Athlete of the Year nominees must have earned at least a 3.5 GPA on a 4.0 scale and demonstrated athletics achievement for at least two years at the nominating institution.
